1.
I won’t complain even when my heart is breaking The world took from me what I didn’t have We always dream of diamond splendor He used to sing witty sensibilities Now he won’t, he’s in the air And we can still hear him
2.
Laughable 02:14
I am looking forward to seeing you out of the blue It’s laughable how we fall apart under the pressure Of this and that and can you see it, they’re racing while we’re also racing Looking at them go/ look at us go I was understood when I left my thoughts alone
3.
I walked away when I meant to stay And I don’t know why I just keep on moving Through these skills and drills my voice coach taught me Does it make me sound any better? I walked away when I meant to say what I always wanted to I feel it in the small of my back
4.
There’s a window open in my room But no one really tells me why I need who I am It doesn’t leave here Under the tone I’ll not give you of my mind And I’m warning you right now Don’t let me hear you

about

Lupia is the project of Timothy Lupia, a Mechanicsburg, PA-based indie rock artist. His new release, Windowpane, is the latest in a trilogy of EPs rewiring the expectations of what a Lupia song can be. After three full-lengths – most recently 2019’s By Your Self – captured transitional periods of his life through direct, ever-shifting arrangements and his enthralling self-harmonizing, 2021’s Sunshine infused the project with expansive, dreamy guitar interludes and shoegaze abstractions.

Windowpane splits the difference between new and old, with “I Won’t Complain” chronicling loss – first through acoustic strums and competing vocal parts, before the release of his most soaring build to date. The four tracks are a confident, brisk survey of the different routes – dream pop, lo-fi balladeering, revival-core emo – this project could capably pursue at any given moment.
